What negative things can anyone say about marshmallows? They look as good as they taste and taste twice as good as they look. If you were to directly translate it into German it would be "Sumpfmalve" but they actually call them "Mausespeck". Makes you think. If it were put into cakes it would certainly be my favourte of all the recipes.
- Pretzel Knots
- Bar of milk chocolate
- 15 Large Marshmallows
- 15 cake pop sticks
- White & black frosting for eyes
- Red & Yellow m&m's or smarties
Line baking sheet with parchment or waxed paper. Carefully break pretzels in half; lay in antler pairs on lined pan.
Break up the chocolate and melt in a heatproof bowl in the microwave or over boiling water
Insert sticks into marshmallows. Dip marshmallows in melted chocolate, rolling to coat. Lay each on a set of pretzel antlers; add red m&m/smartie for noses. Allow to set completely.
Add eyes. Peel carefully from paper. Tie each with ribbon, if desired.
Tip: To blow peoples minds, make rainbow reindeer, add a few drops powder food coloring melted white coating.
Penguin and Snowmen Marshmallow
If unlike me, you have not eaten the left over marhmallows, another thing to make with them and melted chocolate is penguin marshmallows. They're made pretty much the same way, melt your chcolate but when dipping in chocolate, leave a patch uncovered for the white tummy.
Leave to cool in the fridge about 10-15mins should do the job. Cut some yellow smarties in half and use melted chocolate for the beak
Oh and give them some eyes and put them back in the fridges to set fully.
Using melted white chocolate, you can make snowmen or snowwoman heads, which look pretty cool on cupcakes with white icing.
